About Us

Gilbert Chan is a multi-faceted Notary with excellent academic and business track records.  Having immigrated to Canada as a child, Gilbert grew up in East Vancouver and attended the University of British Columbia, graduating with a BA in Psychology.  He then moved to Hong Kong for several years, working with a trading company that he helped successfully grow from just a handful of employees to over 150 people in only four years.

After returning to UBC and obtaining his MBA, Gilbert began his career in banking working for both the Royal Bank of Canada and the Business Development Bank of Canada. He continued to work in a variety of careers gathering experience from food services to shipping & logistic before changing directions and obtaining his MA in Applied Legal Studies from Simon Fraser University. 

Gilbert was commissioned as a Notary Public in 2018. At the graduating ceremony, he was presented with the leadership award of his year and nominated by his class to present the closing speech.

Gilbert is knowledgeable in many areas of business spanning over 20 years and he brings this vast experience to his practice. His eclectic background in many fields puts him in a unique position to meet your notary needs. Fluent in both English and Cantonese, Gilbert has the expert communication skills to ensure that your voice is heard and understood.

Gilbert is a family man who enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He is also deeply involved in his community, having co-chaired the Ethno-Business Council Nomination committee for their annual awards presentations, and is captain of the O2P Dragon Boat team which, in addition to racing, paddles to support those afflicted with kidney disease.
